Our Mission
The mission of Homeschool Kentucky is to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ by promoting private Christian home education as an outstanding educational opportunity. Homeschool Kentucky advocates for the fundamental right of parents to direct the education of their own children as they see fit. Homeschool Freedom means – without government control or oversight. It is our intent to report on legislative, legal, and other matters relevant to homeschooling and family education.
1. To protect parental freedom of choice in education and right of conscience as recognized and guaranteed by the Ky. Constitution, Section 5 of the Bill of Rights.
2. To preserve our freedoms by educating home educators and the general public with information about the Biblical, academic, and legal aspects of home education in Kentucky. HSKY believes citizens must maintain eternal vigilance to protect their liberty and encourages families to remain informed of homeschool law and communicate with their legislators.
3. To provide a space for encouragement and to find common ground for families educating their children at home as a matter of Christian conviction.
4. To equip Kentucky Christian home educators and Christian home education support groups with a central source of information, Christian fellowship and cooperation.
5. To promote the Biblical mandate as expressed in Deut. 6: 4 -10, Prov. 22:6, Eph. 6:4 and other scripture that parents are to train their children in the nurture and admonition of our Lord.
Home education is parent-directed, home-based, privately-funded education.
